Responsibilities:
- Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and MSSQL, implement monitoring and alerting, implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL performance tuning and assist in business process integration with various data sources.
- Maintain standby databases, Migrate and upgrade databases.
- Implement high availability solutions fail-safe db environment with attest 2 DB Servers
- Should be able to do Point in time recovery.
- PostgreSQL Index Management, Partitioning and System Catalogs.
- Fulfills user requests ranging from access control, backup, restore, refresh to non-production to performance tuning.
- Provides online & on call coverage for production support and administration.
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
- Monitoring & responding the database systems incidents to ensure secure production services to business
- Ability to configure DB parameters to optimize its performance.
- Write database checks for the alert monitoring system Requirements.
- Ability to create, update and configure stored procedures, views, tables, index, triggers etc.
- Need to handle data trouble shooting and maintaining data integrity and security.
- Support for Development environments Refresh of UAT/Staging/pre-prod environments
- Database troubleshooting and problem root cause analysis.
- Experience in performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of databases.
- Planning, implementation and maintaining (Incremental/full and hot) DB Backups Strategies.
- Work with infrastructure team (co-ordinate with the application support team) to ensure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the database to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
- Proactive Maintenance of the database servers.
- Good time-management skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skill.
Requirements
- PostgreSQL, MSSQL DBA skills are essential.
- Sound operating knowledge on Windows/UNIX / Linux platform.
