Experienced DB2 technology lead with 8-15 years of expertise in enterprise database architecture, modernization, cloud migration, and operational excellence.

Lead the installation, configuration, administration, and upgrade of IBM DB2 LUW environments across enterprise landscapes.
Design and execute complex DB2 version upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformation projects with minimal disruption to business operations.
Architect and manage highly available DB2 environments utilizing HADR, pureScale, replication technologies, failover automation, and disaster recovery solutions.
Drive migration of on-premises DB2 databases to Amazon RDS for Db2 including DMS-based migration, backup/restore via S3, endpoint and connectivity validation, network isolation/security review, and post-migration performance baselining.
Design and support cloud-native database architectures using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and managed database offerings.
Implement enterprise backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies aligned with organizational standards.
Provide guidance on cloud database services, hybrid cloud architectures, security, governance, and operational best practices.
Perform advanced database performance tuning, workload optimization, indexing strategies, capacity planning, and storage optimization.
Develop automation solutions using Shell Scripting, SQL, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
Collaborate with architects, project managers, application teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic database solutions.
Support production environments, including critical issue resolution, root cause analysis, and on-call escalation management.
Establish database standards, operational procedures, and cloud migration frameworks for enterprise adoption.
Mentor technical teams and provide leadership across global delivery engagements.
Skills Required
- 8-15 years of experience as a DB2 technology lead
- Enterprise database architecture, modernization, cloud migration, and operational excellence experience
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, and upgrading IBM DB2 LUW environments
- Experience with DB2 upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformation projects
- Experience architecting highly available DB2 environments using HADR, pureScale, replication, failover automation, and disaster recovery
- Experience migrating on-premises DB2 databases to Amazon RDS for Db2
- Experience with backup and restore through Amazon S3, connectivity validation, network security reviews, and post-migration performance baselining
- Experience designing cloud-native database architectures using IaaS, PaaS, and managed database services
- Advanced database performance tuning, workload optimization, indexing, capacity planning, and storage optimization experience
- Automation experience using Shell Scripting, SQL, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience supporting production database environments, critical issue resolution, root cause analysis, and on-call escalation
- Experience collaborating with architects, project managers, application teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders
- Experience mentoring technical teams and providing technical leadership
