Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Social Development department with quality assurance, daytime access, supplies, inventories, identifying and addressing maintenance issues, and supporting a positive dorm culture aligned with the Career Success Standards.  

 Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
  • Inspects all student dormitory rooms daily, including all common areas (lounges, laundry rooms, bathrooms, stairwells, hallways, utility rooms, and outside surrounding areas).
  • Inventories cleaning, housekeeping, consumable supplies, and residential paperwork forms.  Submits requisition orders for maintaining minimum stock levels.  Processes supply orders for residential and recreation departments.
  • Inventories, packs, and arranges shipment of former student personal belongings that are left on center after the students depart the program.
  • Helps transport former student personal belongings from the dormitories to the center’s shipping and receiving location.
  • Coordinates student linen exchange program with contracted service.
  • Allows students with pre-authorization approval entry into dormitories during the training day.
  • Helps supervise student work details, training day student employees, and student housekeeping chores including training students to complete tasks.
  • Meets with each student, once they arrive on campus, and completes their Residential File paperwork. Goes over the Dorm Norms with each student and provides them a copy.
  • Will actively engage in the SGA by mentoring and training students on Student Government processes, including Roberts Rules of Order, and schedule meetings as required. Will take ownership of the Student Store by keeping inventory and ordering as needed.
  • Provides additional assistance, as department needs are identified, in meeting the goals of the Residential Living areas.
  • Supports the center’s behavioral management system through student engagement, reinforcement of center expectations, and modeling appropriate behavior.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: At least one year of experience in education or a similar field, working with students. Model the company Core Values.

Knowledge: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English. Must obtain CPR & 1st aid Certification.

Skills Required
