The Leidos Defense E&CS group currently has an opening for a Migration Engineer to work on a high-profile datacenter migration project in Suitland, Maryland to provide technical leadership and support in the areas of IT planning, solution specification/design, implementation and target architecture development for the AFNCR Consolidated Communication Center (CCC). The Engineer will support the 844th Communications Group at Joint Base Andrews (JBA). This role includes supporting the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) customers on both NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains for the development of the new data center. The qualified candidate will have knowledge of information technology commercial solutions and experience designing and developing technical solutions. The preferred candidate will have excellent communications skills, a strong customer service orientation and experience serving as an advisor to Chief Architect and other Government/Contractor staff and managers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and assist with data center migration planning, coordination, and implementation
- Meet with Lead Engineers to identify, assess, and determine options for meeting the functional and technical requirements for migration plans
- Manage and coordinate the installation and maintenance of date center equipment
- Produce architectural artifacts to include system design diagrams, recommendation justifications, and technical solution specifications that satisfy customer business requirements and meet service delivery objectives.
- Coordinate and control access and logistic support ensuring compliance with security protocols
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities and/or modify existing SOPs for efficiency
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommission of physical equipment
- Develop documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides.
- Perform other tasks as determined by Lead Engineers or Project Manager
- Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format.
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE
- Requires BS and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Strong customer-facing skills with a professional and solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent research, decision-making, and organizational abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex information.
- Demonstrated analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Visio, with the ability to create and interpret process flows and documentation.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection standards and organizational policies.
Required Skills:
- ITSM knowledge and experience, particularly with Remedy.
- ITIL training and/or certification.
Desired Skills and Certs:
- Security+ CE or higher
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts.
- MCSE certification.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
