NorthBay is looking for talented NoSQL database experts in general who are passionate about database deployments, management & especially database migrations while adopting novel technologies to solve real-world problems. Ideal candidates would be having solid experience/expertise with management/migration of AWS DocumentDB and/or AWS DynamoDB migrations/management.
Overall good experience/expertise with AWS Cloud, AWS Database services, DMS etc. along with experience of Database/Data migrations automations would be preferred.
Location: Lahore/Islamabad/Karachi
Experience: 5+ years
Requirements:
- Overall 5+years of experience around database platforms deployments, management and migrations especially experience carrying out large scale migration of production databases especially AWS DocumentDB and/or AWS DynamoDB
- Experience with HA/DR including Backup/Recovery, Clustering, Sharding, Replication, CDC etc. especially with DocumentDB and/or DynamoDB
- Experience with AWS & Automations especially in term of database deployments, management and migrations would be a plus point
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and shell scripting
- Knowledge of STIGs, Security implementations & overall database governance
- Proficiency with other database platforms e.g. Aurora, Postgres, MySQL, MS SQL Server etc. would be a be a plus
- Experience/Knowledge with database migrations especially or extensive expertise with DocumentDB, DynamoDB, MongoDB in other domains e.g. Data Engineering, ETL/ELT
- Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance diagnostics and optimization
- Good understanding on different kinds of database platforms and workloads e.g. OLTP, OLAP
- Good problem solving skills and technical communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Employ customer facing skills to represent NorthBay well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions regarding trade-offs among multiple options and potential risk mitigations
- Work closely with Leads/Architects on all fronts (including customer) to help and ensure success of project/migration
- Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
- Develop and execute database migration strategies and solutions including defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications
- Automate/Ansible solutions for repeatable problems
- Develop data validation plans and cases to demonstrate database readiness post migration
- Work closely with application teams to ensure business functionality and SLAs are met
