Seeking an experienced Database Engineer to join our SITE III Directorate Operations (DO) team supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community. The Database Engineer – Mid Level will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
• Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
• Use data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
• Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.
• Prepare system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
• Evaluate, size, and select technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.
• Write and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Implement comprehensive backup and database replication solutions.
Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI and active polygraph OR SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a polygraph. US citizenship is required to obtain.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
• A Bachelor’s degree in an area applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree in an area applicable to the position with 6 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement
• Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
• Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active (DoD 8570 compliance)
• PostgreSQL
• PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL or SQL
• Database design and implementation (tables, indices, triggers, stored procedures)
• Strong troubleshooting skills (performance analysis/improvements)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment
• Full-time work in a SCIF is required, but hours are flexible
• Some travel
Desired Qualifications:
• Understanding of or experience implementing Row Level Security and/or cross domain systems.
• Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, CI/CD pipelines
• AppDynamics
• Experience with data migrations (Oracle to Postgres) and DB upgrades
• Automated testing (Selenium, Robot Framework)
• AWS experience (RDS)
• STIG hardening
• Scrum master or team lead
