The Level 2 Database Engineer provides technical expertise in database design, development, implementation, and maintenance to support the Secure the Enterprise initiative. The position is responsible for developing scalable database architectures, managing information storage and retrieval, optimizing data flows, and implementing automated workflows to modernize system security evaluation and authorization processes.
Required Qualifications

Five (5) years of experience as a Database Engineer (DBE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Five (5) years of additional DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining relational and/or object-oriented database systems.
Experience developing database structures, database parser software, and database loading software.
Experience developing and testing Python-based REST endpoints and microservices using Django and Flask.
Experience working with MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL database technologies.
Experience developing database schemas, ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros for data manipulation and consolidation.
Experience developing database architectures that accommodate data volumes, user capacity, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention requirements, security, and domain controls.

Education substitution clarification: This position requires five years of DBE experience and permits an additional five years of DBE experience in place of the bachelor's degree. This generally means a candidate using the substitution would need ten years of qualifying DBE experience.
