Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into data analysis, mapping, and integration routines. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, and data modeling to optimize our data processes and support decision-making through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal customers, prospects, and stakeholders to understand and translate business use cases into data integration routines.
- Identify data sources and provide data flow diagrams, documenting source-to-target mapping and processes.
- Work with the Data Architect to recommend optimal data models for data ingestion and support BI developers in creating analytic reports.
- Provide technical enablement for team members developing database applications, both on-premise and on cloud platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain database objects and security.
- Collaborate with data stewards and domain experts to adopt best practices in reporting and analysis.
- Optimize data warehouse performance through batch processing parallelization and performance tuning.
- Establish metadata governance processes with the Data Architect to ensure accuracy in business intelligence environments.
- Ensure data quality through audit controls, proactive monitoring, and data cleansing techniques.
- Conduct scheduled data process integrity checks and coordinate deployments and releases.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
- 3+ years in BI development leveraging Microsoft SQL Server with expertise in T-SQL.
- 5+ years in SSIS and the use of Stored Procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in Power BI.
- Proficiency in ingesting and aggregating data from various sources to build a data warehouse.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical model design.
- Deep understanding of relational database design concepts and SQL programming.
- Experience mentoring developers with lesser experience.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer/information sciences or business/commerce.
Preferred Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse).
- Recommended 1-2 years of experience in Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, and maintaining ETL and Data Lake environments.
