Job Description Summary

The Database Developer is responsible for the creation and ongoing management of reports, data feeds, and other applications that support the organization’s accounting systems. This includes developing solutions closely tied to financial data such as trial balances and general ledgers. The Developer also provides escalation support for troubleshooting data anomalies, performance issues, and system error messages, and collaborates with Business Analysts to ensure alignment between business needs and technical capabilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Design, build, and manage reports and data feeds for accounting and financial systems.

- Develop and support custom solutions integrated with Yardi Systems, including reporting and data extraction.

- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for data and system issues.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts to assist in solution design and perform gap analysis between specifications and system capabilities.

- Ensure data integrity and baseline object consistency across multiple databases.

- Author technical documentation for internal processes and best practices.

- Stay current with industry technology trends and methodologies.

DETAILED ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

- Create and manage automated data feeds and scheduled reporting processes.

- Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Use Microsoft Excel to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions and identify system limitations or enhancement opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Previous Experience:

- Experience using Yardi Systems or developing custom solutions for Yardi databases is required.

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in software or database development.

- Strong proficiency in MS SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

- Experience working in Agile development environments.

- Proficiency using Data Integration Tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.) is a plus.

- Experience with accounting systems or financial data is highly desirable.
