Database Developer

About the Role 

Join TD-SYNNEX's Data Practice team as a Database Developer and become the cornerstone of database reliability and performance for our Customer Data Platform (CDP) serving millions of customers across Europe. You'll be at the heart of our data infrastructure transformation, ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our multi-platform database ecosystem that powers Campaign & Customer Analytics, E-commerce Platform and Partner & Channels Management. 

As the database specialist, you'll have direct ownership of critical database infrastructure components, ensuring 99%+ uptime while supporting business domains that process massive data volumes daily across Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure environments. You'll be part of exciting initiatives directly contributing to TD-SYNNEX's position as the world's biggest technology distributor.

We tackle challenges from areas such as: 

• Database Infrastructure Management - Multi-environment database provisioning, schema governance, and performance optimization across 200+ schemas with 99%+ uptime targets  

• Security & Access Control - Role-based access management, service account provisioning, and credential lifecycle management across DEV, QA, and PROD environments 

• Performance Optimization - Warehouse sizing, query optimization, and resource utilization monitoring for 100K+ monthly database tasks  

• Environment Separation - Database isolation strategies, automated deployment pipelines, and cross-platform integration management  

• Monitoring & Alerting - Proactive database health monitoring, failure detection, and automated recovery systems reducing MTTR from 4 hours to <1 hour 

In this role you will be 

• Designing and owning comprehensive data models for enterprise initiatives, creating logical and physical data architectures that support Campaign Analytics, E-commerce Intelligence, and Partner Management systems across 200+ schemas 

• Leading data modeling governance including dimensional modeling, normalization strategies, and cross-platform data architecture decisions that ensure consistency and performance across the entire Customer Data Platform 

• Responsible for Data Practice database infrastructure across Snowflake, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Azure SQL platforms within limits defined by IT 

• Implementing robust security frameworks including role-based access control, service account management, and credential governance across multiple environments  

• Optimizing database performance through warehouse sizing, query tuning, resource monitoring, and cost optimization strategies for large-scale data processing  

• Driving environment optimization initiatives implementing DevOps practices for database deployments, ensuring proper isolation between DEV, QA, and PROD environments 

Skills & knowledge you bring include  

• 5+ years of database administration experience with enterprise-scale environments, preferably in cloud platforms  

• Strong expertise cloud data platforms administration including database management, warehouse optimization, role hierarchy design, and performance tuning  

• Data modeling and architecture expertise including dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), data vault methodology, normalization techniques, and enterprise data architecture design patterns 

• Databricks Unity Catalog proficiency covering workspace management, compute optimization, secret management, and governance frameworks  

• Infrastructure as Code experience using tools like Terraform, DBT, ARM templates, or similar for automated database provisioning  

• Security and compliance knowledge including RBAC implementation, credential management, and audit trail maintenance  

• Monitoring and alerting expertise with database performance metrics, proactive issue detection, and automated recovery systems  

• DevOps practices understanding including CI/CD for database deployments, version control, and automated testing strategies  

• Strong troubleshooting abilities with systematic incident resolution, root cause analysis, and cross-platform integration experience  

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders on database requirements and performance optimization  

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field is preferred
