Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Database and Systems Engineer to be based in San Diego, CA.

AECOM’s Program Management (PgM) business line is a global leader in delivering complex, large-scale programs across diverse sectors. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and excellence, PgM provides end-to-end solutions that drive impactful results for clients worldwide. Our expertise spans infrastructure, transportation, energy, water, and urban development, ensuring that every program is executed with precision, efficiency, and sustainability.

As a Database and Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and manipulating data to generate valuable insights and reports for our clients.

Job Duties include:

  • Works under minimal supervision. 
  • Performs system-wide/cross-functional team management. 
  • Provides direction for projects. 
  • Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies. 
  • Project size is of high complexity. 
  • Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization. 
  • Acts as a mentor to less senior IT staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Educational Project Experience
  • Relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience with MS Excel, specifically the ability to develop pivot tables and use other advanced features.
  • Data Management experience
  • Under AECOM supervision, ability to work with a wide range of clients and have interaction with clients’ personnel.
  • Ability to work with various staff in a wide range of disciplines.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with external and internal clients, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with business analysis, business intelligence, and related tools.
