Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities:
The Database Administrator (DBA) will serve as a technical expert for the Debt Manager production application and other CCU systems. This role involves maintaining databases, ensuring security and storage capacity, and troubleshooting issues across CCU databases of varying complexity, size, and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and support databases, including patching, software installation, index optimization, log management, service restarts, and database replication (SQL Server Reporting Services – SSRS).
Resolve system outages and provide in-depth, hands-on experience in maintaining and configuring the Debt Manager application and other CCU systems.
Ensure optimal system and database performance through proactive monitoring, tuning, and issue resolution.
Analyse and recommend infrastructure upgrades (CPU, memory, disk space).
Collaborate with the C&R client service desk and technical resources for tuning and system maintenance.
Provide technical support during system upgrades and releases, including developing and maintaining detailed checklists.
Apply new or upgraded server security certificates annually.
Perform as a technical expert monitoring and executing the Debt Manager production application and other CCU systems.
Provide technical leadership in designing new system databases or enhancing existing applications based on input from users, user groups, and control agencies.
Participate as a member of the CCU Change Control Board, evaluating complexity and tasks required for new systems.
- Strong experience in database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL Server and SSRS.
- Experience designing or enhancing system databases and applications.
- Knowledge of infrastructure upgrades and system optimisation.
- Ability to manage and secure production systems with attention to detail.
