Project Role : Database Administrator
Project Role Description : Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

Good to have skills : Ansible on Microsoft Azure, Docker Kubernetes Administration, PostgreSQL Administration

Summary: As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for administering, developing, testing, and demonstrating databases. A typical day involves collaborating with various teams to design, implement, and maintain new databases, ensuring their performance and reliability. You will also engage in backup and recovery processes, configuration management, and the installation of database management systems, contributing to the overall efficiency of database operations. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems. - Assist in the design and implementation of database solutions that meet client needs. - Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation. Manage and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle databases on RedHat Linux and PostgreSQL DBaaS in Cloud - Performing backups, restores, and recovery procedures as needed - Maintain and ensure high availability of the databases - Continuous improvement of standardization and automation of database configuration (Git, Ansible, Terraform) - Support configuration of the databases monitoring - System lifecycle management. Implement changes, apply new patches and versions according to patching calendar or when required - Implementing and maintaining mandatory security measures to protect the databases - Close cooperation with system administrators who are members of our team - Collaborate with other teams to implement infrastructure changes and upgrades Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in PostgreSQL. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with PostgreSQL Administration, Docker Kubernetes Administration, Ansible on Microsoft Azure. - Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices. - Experience with backup and recovery strategies for database systems. - Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques. - Expertise in PostgreSQL database (installation, monitoring, maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting, etc.) Well versed in Oracle - Good knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: Terraform, Git, Ansible, Docker, GCP, Azure Cloud, Bash scripting Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in PostgreSQL. - This position is based at our Hyderabad office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
