A Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain databases. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, security, and availability of databases, as well as optimizing database systems for efficiency and scalability. This role requires a deep understanding of database management systems (DBMS), troubleshooting skills, and experience in database design, backup, and recovery strategies. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). 
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency. 
  • SQL Tunning, Query Optimisation 
  • Create AWR/ASH reports and gather Database Statistics 
  • Implement and maintain database security policies, including user access controls and encryption. 
  • Perform regular backups, restorations, and disaster recovery planning. 
  • Develop and manage database scripts, stored procedures, and automation processes. 
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and high availability. 
  • Collaborate with MS and PS team to optimize database structures and queries. 
  • Manage database migration, upgrades, and patches. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies. 
  • Stay updated on the latest database technologies and industry best practices 
  • Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB. 
  • Proficiency in database design, optimization, and troubleshooting. 
  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies. 
  • Understanding of indexing, replication, and partitioning techniques. 
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerShell, Bash). 
  • Knowledge of cloud database services (Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server DBA, AWS Certified Database – Specialty). 
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. 

 

Working Hours: 

  • 3 PM to 12 AM Manila time, hybrid setup with no fixed office schedule on a weekly basis.
