Position Overview
Datavail is seeking an Oracle DBA to serve as a primary point of contact for managed service engagements. Working with a team of Datavail DBAs, this individual will optimize production systems and assist in building a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offering. This is a long-term, customer-facing role requiring deep technical expertise and strong communication skills
Education & Certification
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience
- Oracle Database certification or coursework preferred
AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or OCI Foundations certification preferred
Core Skills & Experience
RDBMS Systems
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience supporting Oracle databases (academic, internship, or professional experience)
- Understanding of Oracle Database concepts and architecture
- Familiarity with Oracle versions 11g through 23ai
- Linux and Windows administration understanding
Preferred: - Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Exposure to Oracle Data Guard and RAC environments

- Basic understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts is a plus
AI & Productivity Tools - Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity and development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms
- Ability to leverage AI tools for research, documentation, troubleshooting, scripting assistance, and operational efficiency
- Interest in emerging AI technologies and their application to database administration and automation
