Job Summary:

The Database Administrator installs, configures, and maintains production databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and availability. The role establishes and enforces database standards, security controls, and operational procedures to protect data integrity. Responsibilities include performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing backup and disaster recovery strategies. The position also administers and optimizes cloud database platforms, including Azure SQL, to support scalable and resilient data environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead administration and optimization of SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQL, Databricks

  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues across OLTP and warehouse environments

  • Design HA/DR architectures (AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, failover groups)

  • Implement monitoring, automation, and proactive performance tuning and heath checks

  • Drive database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives

  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, analytics, and vendors on platform integrations

  • Ensure security, compliance, backup, and recovery strategies meet enterprise standards

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years enterprise DBA experience with SQL Server

  • 4+ years Microsoft Azure experience

  • Deep SQL Server + Azure SQL expertise

  • Advanced query tuning and performance optimization skills

  • Strong HA/DR and database security experience

  • Expert-level database design skills (schema architecture, data modeling, indexing strategy)

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or analytics platforms

  • Databricks experience

  • DevOps pipeline experience

  • Strong scripting/automation background

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
