Position Summary
ECS is seeking a Database Administrator - Senior to support the Army National Guard ENOCS program. In this role, the selected candidate will lead the administration of enterprise databases critical to application operations, modernization, and sustainment efforts. The individual will ensure optimal database performance, security, and compliance, playing a pivotal role in advising development and infrastructure teams on database optimization and scalability. This position is integral to maintaining data protection policies and supporting the mission's continuity and success.
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration and management of enterprise databases to support application operations and modernization initiatives.
- Oversee performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure reliable and scalable data services.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard enterprise data.
- Configure and manage database access controls and security measures in alignment with compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database integration and data integrity.
- Support vulnerability remediation and configuration compliance activities to enhance database security.
- Advise on database optimization strategies to improve scalability and performance.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance and cybersecurity policies.
- Facilitate system modernization efforts while maintaining operational continuity.

- DoD 8140.03 Compliance: DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Work Role 421-Database Administrator at the Intermediate proficiency level
- Certifications (one or more required): Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP
- Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise database administration within DoD or Federal IT environments.
- Proven experience in performance tuning, database optimization, and capacity planning.
- Demonstrated ability to implement backup and recovery strategies and manage database security.
- Experience coordinating with development and infrastructure teams for database integration.
- Strong understanding of data governance and cybersecurity policies.
