As a Senior Database Administrator, you should have strong experience as a DBA, including hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting on premise as well as Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases; manage and monitor databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Administer and maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and pluggable databases to ensure high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilisation
• Utilise Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to automate patching and provisioning tasks, streamlining database maintenance and reducing manual intervention
• Administer PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization; troubleshoot performance issues and implement solutions
• Conduct regular database health checks and recommend improvements
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for database management tasks, automation, and monitoring
• Streamline database operations through automation and scripting
• Plan and execute database migrations to cloud platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud)
• Implement and manage backup strategies; perform regular backups and recovery testing
• Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure database resilience
• Manage database security, roles, and permissions; ensure compliance with data security policies

Job Requirements

Experience:

• 4-5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, with expertise in OEM
• Proven experience in shell scripting and automating database tasks
• Experience with PostgreSQL database management is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, backup/recovery processes, and performance tuning
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, shell scripting, and cloud database migration tools
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud
