Sentara Health is seeking an Epic Database Administrator to join our team!
This position is 100% remote but candidates must have a current residence in one of the follow states or being willing to relocate: Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
Job Description:
The Epic Database Administration work includes designing, configuring, and managing databases to ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of the organization's data including:
•Defining standards for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration
•Performing backup and recovery using Database Management Systems
•Configuring database parameters and defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements
•Designing and implementing approaches to improve database performance, capacity, and scalability.
An Experienced Professional applies practical knowledge of job areas typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include:
• Works independently with general supervision. • Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
3 years of relevant experience with a degree
5+ years of relevant experience without a degree
Required Experience /Skills:
• Experience in implementation and management of Epic ODBA environments
• Experience in configuring and maintaining environment copies
• Experience installing and maintaining admin/monitoring tools required to monitor Epic system
• Experience using Cache and Epic Chronicles utilities
• Strong knowledge of command shell scripting
• Strong understanding of OS concepts; ex: group ownership, file permissions, etc.
• Experience with RedHat Linux
• Epic ODBA Certification (Cache/Iris) preferred but not required

For applicants within Washington State, the following hiring range will be applied: $70,746 to $117,910 annually.
