Database Administrator – Level 2 (Hyderabad)
Experience: 5+ Years
MAJOR RESPOSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch database software including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Manage and maintain database environments across development, testing, and production systems.
- Perform database housekeeping activities including capacity planning, backup validation, and space management.
- Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Monitor database performance and optimize through indexing, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and resource optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues such as deadlocks, blocking, performance degradation, replication failures, and data corruption.
- Provide Level 2 (L2) support and beyond, handling escalated incidents and root‑cause analysis.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Hands‑on experience with HA/DR architectures, database security, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning techniques, and monitoring tools.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS is highly desirable.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Higher education (Master’s degree or equivalent) is an added advantage.
CERTIFICATIONS (One or More Preferred)
- Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty
- Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate (OCA)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
Skills Required
- 5+ years of database administration experience
- Strong experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Proficiency in SQL, indexing, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with HA/DR architectures, database security, and backup/recovery strategies
- Experience providing Level 2 support, incident escalation, and root-cause analysis
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Master's degree or higher
- Relevant certifications (Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Database Specialty, OCA, OCP)
