REQUIRES IN OFFICE 2 DAYS A WEEK IN SACRAMENTOProvides complex database development, maintenance, and enhancements in support of the Sutter Health relational database management system (RDBMS) and its associated applications. Functions as a technical leader supporting infrastructure and application team environments and organizes systems and operating procedures that promote core values and optimize departmental effectiveness. Is a lead role in establishing database strategies in support of Sutter Health RDBMS solutions. Lastly, provides implementation and support as well as builds new databases as needed while troubleshooting system defects and problems.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence (MSBI) stack: SSIS (Integration Services), SSAS (Analysis Services), and SSRS (Reporting Services).
- Working knowledge of installing, configuring, tuning, upgrading and migrating various Microsoft SQL Server versions running on Windows platforms.
- Working knowledge and understanding of database High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions, including Always On Availability Groups (AOAG) and Failover Cluster Instances (FCI) clustering, Distributed AOAG, log shipping and replication. and mirroring (Note: SQL Server mirroring has been deprecated).
- Database performance tuning, optimization, sizing and capacity planning.
- Database security and encryption.
- Familiarity with the various database versions, editions, components and features.
- Familiarity with newer SQL Server features, such as In-Memory OLTP, Always Encrypted, Query Store and Distributed Availability Groups.
- Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

Pay Range is $50.16 to $75.24 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
