  • PTO is provided to team members as a lump sum allowance, not an accrual. Compensation

Our Compensation System is designed to reward remarkable work, grow your impact and support the whole “you” over the course of your career.

We believe in paying people fairly, so we've established a compensation model aimed to ensure everyone at Fearless — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, nationality, or negotiation skills — is given equal pay for equal work. Our approach to compensation is intended to ensure our total package serves all of your needs and includes base pay, medical and other benefits, performance rewards, 401k matching, plus a few perks (tech and wellness reimbursement programs)! Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.

The salary ranges for this position based on location are listed below. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified as a part of our annual salary range review.

  • AL, FL, GA, TN Residents: $81,946 (min) - $104,482 (mid) - $127,017 (max)
  • NC Residents: $84,481 (min) - $107,713 (mid) - $130,945 (max)
  • DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $88,705 (min) - $113,099 (mid) - $137,493 (max) 
  • DC Residents: $99,687 (min) - $127,101 (mid) - $154,515 (max) 
  • CA, NY, NJ Residents: $103,067 (min) - $131,410 (mid) - $159,753 (max)

Summary 

This position requires a candidate with an analytical mindset and a commitment to ethical, user-centric, data-driven development. The individual should be able to approach problems from different angles in order to address key business questions and guide important development and design decisions. The role places strong emphasis on database administration and data analysis, with some involvement in data engineering and DataOps. The right candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing organizational databases, turning data into actionable insights, and assisting in maintaining data infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Contributions Organizational and Leadership Role 

  • Leads by example, and coaches others directly.
  • Work closely with SMEs to interpret the results of data.
  • Takes initiative for their own growth through personal leadership.

Functional Role 

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL-based database systems.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with data regulations.
  • Perform backups, recovery, and data integrity checks.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support.
  • Document database configurations and generate performance reports.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques with tools like Power BI and SQL.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and analytics strategies.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain data systems.
  • Provide reports and visualizations to present insights comprehensibly to stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing data processing systems using Databricks and Python.
  • Support data architecture design for data acquisition and transformation.
  • Support the implementation of data flow and real-time processing solutions.
  • Assist in the coordination with CDC IT personnel and the deployment of data systems.
  • Analyze data to answer questions across a variety of domains.
  • Produce data visualizations that tell a story with data.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to inform key stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports that identify trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Document procedures and methodology used in analysis.
  • Prepare data for analysis.
  • Verbally present analysis to stakeholders.
  • Drive the development of user personas and product features with data.
  • Query, collect and aggregate data from a multitude of different sources.
  • Work with stakeholders to formalize hypotheses for analysis.
  • Independently identify hypotheses for analysis that will drive business decisions.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies  Must-Have Skills

  • Ability to obtain required security clearance for this project: Public Trust.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree or 4 additional YOE
  • Must have current or previous government contracting experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct Database Administration experience.
  • Demonstrated working experience using SQL databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (or similar).
  • Proficient in cleaning and deduping data with Python, R, or SAS.
  • Proficient in creating data visualizations in Python, R, or SAS.
  • Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc).
  • Experience with various BI Tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc).
  • Experience with Splunk, the ELK Stack, or similar.
  • Ability to learn new technology independently.
  • Strong foundation in descriptive statistics.
  • Experience working closely with stakeholders.
  • The ability to tell a story with data.
  • Strong business acumen.

Icing-on-the-Cake Skills 

  • Azure SQL database experience
  • Experience with time series databases.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with AWS data storage and analytics services.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • A/B testing experience.
