Job Description
We are seeking a senior manager to grow and lead data scale team. Data scale team is a team within platform persistence group who is responsible for the providing storage layer API for ServiceNow platform. Data scale team focus on scaling up and out our relational data workload. Specific area includes database driver, JDBC connection pooling, distributing large query loads and large data volume across multiple databases to support our customers as they continue to grow their business with ServiceNow platform.
What you get to do in this role:

• Work with architects and product managers to manage and driving features in data scalability domain
• Explore different database technologies such as row storage, column storage, distributed database, replication technologies, platform persistence caching and query statistics, optimization and query routing techniques to scale up ServiceNow workload.
• Manage platform development activities in a fast pace environment
• Use critical thinking to help characterize platform and application resource size needs. Provide persistence layer framework to maximizing output with give resource while maintain platform reliability
• Work with our Support team, operations team and our largest customers regarding scalability and performance challenges

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software industry experience, 3+ years as a manager or a team lead managing software developers on development projects
• Experience working on platform backend
• Passion for performance, scalability and reliability
• Solid understanding of software design, development, testing, and deployment
• Solid understanding of JVM internals
• Solid understanding of database internals
• Demonstrated success on completing complex projects
• Experience on building a productive team

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $166,230 - $290,970, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.
