As a Sr. Data & Reporting Analyst, you will be empowered to support short and long term operational/strategic business activities; develop, enhance and maintain operational data and models that will have an impact on business decisions. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. One of Optum's 11 "preferred locations" are: Phoenix, AZ, Boulder and Colorado Springs, CO, Hartford, CT, Tampa, FL, Minneapolis, MN, St. Louis, MO, Pittsburgh, PA, Nashville, TN, Dallas, TX, and Houston, TX.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis, review, forecast, and trending of complex data
  • Own the development and maintenance of production and ad-hoc operational reports
  • Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through Analytics
  • Interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of leadership

You'd be on a growing team, in a highly-visible part of the business, and will have direct interaction with senior leadership. This role works in an Agile framework, on a high performing team, in a dynamic environment working with newer technologies and emerging tools.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working with relational databases and database structures (such as SQL, Oracle, Teradata)
  • 3+ years of experience developing in business intelligence/visualization software (preferably Power BI)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Intermediate proficiency writing/developing SQL queries

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Experience with data manipulation software (such as Alteryx)
  • Healthcare Industry experience in claims, management, and/or prior authorization data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a challenging dynamic atmosphere
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem problem-solving skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
