Job Description
In this role you will lead continuous improvement efforts across Instacart’s curbside pickup program. You’ll apply analytical rigor to identify the highest-value opportunities within the pickup fulfillment process to reduce waste and improve the experience of Instacart’s customers, retail partners, and shoppers. You will drive improvements that enable the fastest customer curbside experience, flawless order fulfillment, and execution of innovative new experiences. To drive these opportunities to fruition you will lead members of our operational, retailer, and product teams in understanding and execution.
Your day to day…
- Develop and execute against a roadmap that is always focused on tackling the largest continuous improvement opportunities across Instacart’s pickup fulfillment programs
- Establish tools and systems that create an environment conducive to continuous improvement
- Lead continuous cross-functional improvement sprints, collaborating with operations, account management, retail partners, and product teams
- Document and clearly communicate how all aspects of the pickup fulfillment process work in practice to establish a shared understanding across organization
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Retail teams to gain buy-in for efforts then collaborate to identify, measure, understand and deploy improvements
- Work with our pickup retail and partner store operations teams to identify and drive retailer-specific opportunities for performance improvement that reduce variation across thousands of diverse locations
- Scale solutions for operational improvement across internal and external stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
- 4+ Years of Experience driving scaled improvements in retail operations, manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, or supply chain with a proven track record
- Experience leading across teams without direct authority. Uses a participatory management style and team-building skills to
- Experience implementing continuous improvement across multiple sites; the more, the better
- Demonstrated success applying statistical methods to complex, unstructured problems
- Ability to craft and present data-backed narratives and experiences that engage audiences from store teams to technical teams to executives
- Experience educating and leading teams of others in applying Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to manage strategy and urgency, while simultaneously managing and delivery results in a fast-moving environment
- Experience leveraging Periscope, Tableau, Excel, and other tools used for data analysis and visualization
- Proven ability to work independently, multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoy working in the field and have ability to travel up to 30%
