Senior Merchandising Analytics Manager

As part of this mission, Chewy is looking for a passionate, data-driven Senior Merchandising Analytics Manager to join our Merchandising Analytics Team based in Plantation, FL; Boston, MA; Bellevue, WA; Minneapolis, MN. In this role, the Manager will directly support our Category Management Analytics function, with an emphasis on Promotions. They will be responsible for program managing promotional reporting including building and maintaining core reporting tools to drive continuous improvements in business decision making processes analyzing Merchandising data sets to address complex problems.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exemplary skills in analyzing large data sets, turning analyses into decision-oriented insights for senior leadership. This individual is also highly proficient in developing and executing cross-functional project plans while being able to operate with minimal direction from leadership. The ideal candidate has proven experience creating metrics and dashboards related to pricing and/or promotions, financial and site metrics.
What you'll do:
- Lead the development of best-in-class analyses for evaluating promotional effectiveness with respect to financial performance, product assortment, site placement, and customer experience measures
- Independently identify opportunities for application of advanced analytical solutions and models, ultimately deploying these solutions independently or with support from Business Analysts
- Leverage large data sets to surface actionable insights that support Merchandising in making data driven decisions
- Develop a centralized repository of insights on promotion performance and deliver recommendations to business partners for maximizing specific business outcomes
- Program manage cross-functional analytics initiatives that require development of new data tables and fields, data products, and tools for both internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with business analysts and data engineering teams to prioritize and QA development of new data sources, tables, metrics and products
- Support Merchandising leadership in understanding and influencing business inputs to drive favorable outputs across customer experience and financial metrics
- Gather business partner inputs to inform new data products and enhance existing reports
- Lead, coach and mentor business analysts to help them deliver results and grow their careers
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Information Management or a related degree with analytical or quantitative emphasis.
- Minimum of 5 years of directly transferrable work experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and statistical analyses using R, SAS, etc
- Advanced data visualization skills using software such as Tableau, Power BI, etc
- Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement with proficiency in executing break-even analyses, NPV, and ROI analyses
- High degree of proficiency with executing complex data analyses
- Ability to independently manage cross-functional projects, delivering results on tight timelines
- Strong understand of Ecommerce pricing and promotion KPIs
- High degree of proficiency executing complex and large-scale data analyses across millions of records
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and relational or columnar database structure
- Proven experience delivering high quality results on tight timelines
- Superior attention to detail and experience creating mechanisms to monitor data integrity
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments with speed and commitment to quality
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Bonus:
- Masters or equivalent advanced academic degree
- Modeling experience in pricing or promotions
- Project Management Certification
