Job Description

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other data users within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to immediate team of data engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
  • Applied knowledge of Architecture and Design Principles & Patterns. Experience of working with Enterprise scale, High Performance, Distributed & Multi-Threaded applications
  • Proficiency in Application Performance monitoring and tuning. Passion for writing Clean code and follow TDD, BDD & Agile principles


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability using Java or Python. Working experience with AWS(EC2, lambda, step functions) and Infrastructure as code(Terraform)
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Databricks or related technologies
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages. Working experience building data lakes and data warehouses on on premise and cloud


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience performance tuning and applying modelling concepts with data
  • Experience with Snowflake, Teradata
