We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst who is passionate about technology and building amazing customer experiences through Web and eCommerce. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Business Analysts who work on eCommerce initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems
  • Partner extensively across the enterprise, particularly with Direct to Consumer, Finance, Rights & Royalties, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Operations, and Technology delivery to further e-Commerce vision and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business, delivery team, and other core platform stakeholders.
  • Improve the business analysis function through best practices, process management, mentoring, and education.
  • Work with the User Experience (UX) team to develop concepts that address website usability and best practices.
  • Establish KPIs & metrics to improve business visibility.
  • Responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the requirement inter-dependencies across eCommerce Initiatives, liaising with business, product owners, and other core platforms on those projects where necessary.
  • Help connect the dots across the eCommerce initiatives, ensuring communication flow between business, technology, and other core platforms.
  • Create or provide input to supporting business cases, including financial impact and benefits statements, to support IT solutions
  • Support in managing the engagement of senior stakeholders within Pearson Technology, helping to prepare key communications material or escalating risks and issues in a timely fashion for resolution.
  • Analyze online experience of the customer and implement improvements to same, and assess the effectiveness of all key metrics and monitor all vendor service level agreements to ensure optimal quality of services to customer.
  • Be a subject matter expert - develop deep knowledge of our platform, dependencies on other systems and influence our roadmap; act as a trusted adviser for our customers and turn business requirements into feature specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owners to ensure the stories are comprehensive and well-formed.
  • Work closely with the technology architectsand leads toconvert business requirements into technologysolutions.
  • Create epics and stories inJIRAfor Agile scrum teams.Ensure requirements are fully documented.
  • Work closely with theQAtesters to ensure good testing coverage isachieved.
  • Help identify dependencies, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Champion our platform, drive awareness and accountability to ensure platform capabilities are leveraged across Pearson to build customer experiences.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business analysis, software development, or quality engineering of customer-facing applications.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to facilitate interactive sessions with business and technology teams.
  • Experience working in large teams with excellent knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies, including JIRA & Confluence or equivalent tools.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • A team player who works well with a diverse group, acting as a liaison between technology teams, business units & supportteams.
  • Prior work experience in eCommerce projects or software development would be an addedadvantage.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms like SAP Commerce, Hybris, or any comparable platforms, or any Web Content Management platforms.
  • Familiarity with API-first Headless architecture implementation in eCommerce or Web Content space will be desirable.
