We’re in search of a Sr. Database Administrator who can seamlessly mesh tech know-how with business acumen to help us navigate all our database computing needs, including design, maintenance, performance, support and planning. This role will report to our Director of Cloud Operations.

What will you do?

• Working with our development and engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
• Planning, designing and developing cloud-based applications including migration of on-premise applications to cloud platforms
• Managing private and public cloud data environments in accordance with company security guidelines
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based database initiatives, providing associated training as required
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems
• Lead and develop best practices for larger SQL/Database teams
• Orchestrating and automating cloud-based data platforms throughout the company
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel

We are looking for someone with:

• Certification as an Azure Administrator/Architect Certification, AWS Solutions Architect and/or Cloud Security Certification
• 6+years of SQL database administration and troubleshooting
• Cloud administration skills in AWS and Azure
• Patching with clustering and standalone SQL instances
• Experience with AD users and permissions
• Familiarity with Cloud - Maintenance & Administration (Azure and AWS)
• Experience using and troubleshooting SNOW
• Experience with large-scale enterprise MS SQL Server deployments
• Experience with Amazon RDS and Postgres
• Experience with Windows/Linux systems engineering
• Strong working knowledge of PowerShell and or other scripting technologies
• Ability to automate complex orchestrations and or production processes
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Working technical knowledge of current database software, protocols, and standards
• Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
• Evaluate and select database components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools, and database design solutions
• Standardize and support end-user practices and tools for data extraction, queries, and data manipulation in accordance with business processes
