Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical expert in email architecture, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Apps for Enterprise, and Microsoft Defender supporting a tenant of 300,000+ integrated employees & contractors
  • Build, test and create new designs and new processes within Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Apps for Enterprise (Microsoft Office desktop applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Will often be consulted as the Microsoft Outlook subject-matter expert for an Exchange org of ~300k mailboxes
  • Participate in technical projects. including Exchange upgrades, Office 365 deployments, Office 365 apps configuration management, and select merger and acquisition related migrations
  • Works closely with operations teams to drive escalated incidents to resolution
  • Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to solve large scale problems
  • Help define knowledge and create SOPs for helpdesk and operations teams
  • Create, modify and execute PowerShell scripts to manage Exchange/Exchange Online
  • Create and implement change controls and participate in change management functions
  • Create/modify supporting technical and architectural diagrams for email related services
  • Provide off-hours support and participate in war-rooms as needed
  • Communicate and present technical status to leadership teams
  • No on-call required

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in technology architecture or engineering field(s)
  • 10+ years of supporting Microsoft Exchange services including exchange online & hybrid deployments, email delivery, email security
  • 5+ years of experience architecting email routing processes, messaging protocols and email security functions
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft cross-tenant related management functions, including calendar free/busy management and address list synchronization techniques
  • 5+ years of experience using Advanced Exchange Online PowerShell


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Certification
  • Microsoft Exchange Online Support Engineer Certification
  • Microsoft Apps for Enterprise (Office 365) configuration management and deployment experience
  • Solid foundation in server systems, virtualization, and firewalls/networking
  • Experience in high-demand, complex environments
  • Experience with email authentication and advanced threats
  • Enterprise grade tenant management experience
  • Merger & Acquisition integration related experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
