Job Description Data and Analytics is a large technology team with ~1,200 professionals that help to meet all data driven needs across CCB with an emphasis on security, quality, controls and consumption. Our area of focus are Data Management & Governance, Data Strategy & Products, and Line of Business/Functional Reporting & Analytics, Shared Services and Global Support
As a Quant Analytics Lead in Home Lending Servicing MIS, your main job is to identify the reporting needs of the business and develop operational reports, executive dashboards and ad-hoc analysis to support the line of business. This includes gathering requirements from the business, identifying the data sources, collaborating with Data teams to build the best data solution for reports and development of reports in SSRS, Tableau and other delivery platforms. The position requires a mix of Mortgage servicing and Default operations business knowledge together with data science and data management skills with a focus on focus on design, build and implementation of reports and digital dashboards. The Quant Analyst is a strong communicator who is eager to learn and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with business partners to gather reporting requirements
  • Provide data in a digestible format to key stakeholders using Business Intelligence Dashboards for both recurring and ad hoc reporting
  • Use advanced data discovery and data mining tools to reveal relationships and trends in the data providing new insights into behaviors
  • Translate business needs into data solutions supporting long-term solutions
  • Partner with business to provide insightful analytics to improve processes
  • Perform data discovery work to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to help develop various types of data-driven Home Lending products/initiatives.
  • Think critically about headwinds facing the business and explore opportunities for analytics
  • Evaluate data sources for data quality and discrepancies
  • Collaborate with team members, both to build out specific projects and to continuously teach and learn new technology and techniques
  • Work independently with minimal supervision but high accountability
  • Engage heavily with designing and implementing solutions that are scalable and satisfy analytics performance requirements.
  • Facilitate use case & requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of new data assets and analytic capabilities that address specific business needs
  • Support data modelers towards the creation of conceptual & logical models for the new Foundational Model within Servicing MIS.
  • Enable the management of data as a corporate asset: define data (metadata), identify systems of record and authoritative sources, define security requirements, create data flow diagrams, and administer firm-wide principles, standards, and controls


Required Skills:

  • Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • Technical knowledge of reporting tools
  • Strong understand of SQL and identify data quality issues
  • Experience working with Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle and Microsoft SQL DBs and Alteryx
  • Experience with reporting technologies like Tableau, SSRS
  • Aptitude for learning new theory and new technology
  • Advising business and technology partners on data-driven opportunities to increase efficiency and improve customer experience
  • Proactively interfacing with, and gathering information from, other areas of the business (Operations, Technology, Finance, Marketing)
  • Extracting data from various sources and technologies using complex SQL queries
  • The ideal candidate is a critical thinker that will thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and will mesh well with a team that prides itself on attention to detail and results
  • Understanding of Mortgage Servicing and Default operations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics / Statistics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in Microsoft SQL. Having Hadoop, Teradata or Oracle experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with reporting BI tools: Tableau and SSRS preferred
  • Have a solid understanding of data structures, data manipulation, metadata, data security, and data quality management
  • Prior experience leading data or analytic projects. Leading prior teams is preferred.
