About the job
The Enterprise Data and Analytics team (EDA) is looking for a talented Principal Technical Process Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will focus on mission-critical work to identify, document, and refine processes that have audit and compliance impact. As part of our team, you'll improve and streamline processes that help Red Hat to meet its objectives and goals. You'll recommend improvements to business processes and operational procedures. As a Principal Technical Process Analyst, you'll lead the analysis, design, and implementation of processes that have enterprise impact. You'll plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives and be an active contributor to cross-functional project teams. To be successful in this role, you'll need excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented approach. You should have experience preparing documents and information that may be provided to auditors or other compliance officials, experience working in or supporting a data and analytics function is a big plus. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, compliance, and operations requirements and systems goals
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
  • Prototype new procedures for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operating systems across the organization
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for proposed changes to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Assist with updating and maintaining playbook and intranet
  • Analyze data and communicate findings and recommendations to a broad set of stakeholders
  • Develop, standardize, document, and maintain new or improved processes based on findings and analysis
  • Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications to all impacted and interested audiences explaining pertinent impacts
  • Create current state and future state process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts
  • Develop budgets and timeframes for process changes in order to support company objectives
  • Liaise with various business groups or user communities in the organization to facilitate feedback on and implementation of new or improved business processes
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post-implementation support as required


What you will bring

  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into operational and project requirements
  • 5+ years of proven experience with business and requirements analysis, business process modeling and mapping, and methodology development
  • Knowledge of business processes to create current and future state process diagrams and documentation; experience identifying complexity and interdependencies
  • Demonstrated experience meeting compliance or audit needs
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to challenge thought partners across functional areas to better understand their needs
  • Ability to partner with leaders, peers, project team members, and business analysts to identify path forward
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High ethical standards with the ability to make independent judgement and take action
  • Creative problem-solving skills and desire to explore new solutions or approaches


The following are considered a plus:

  • College diploma or university degree in business administration, computer science, finance, privacy and risk, or management information systems
  • Experience supporting data and analytics or IT organizations
  • Experience with or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies
  • Background in a software engineering environment
  • Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) methods, APIs, containerization, or open source technology
  • Demonstrated collaborator and leader with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Storytelling and data visualization skills
