About the job
The Red Hat IT team is looking for a Portfolio and Demand Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will apply practices to support portfolio and demand management strategy. You will guide continuous improvement across the Enterprise Applications (EApps) team by ensuring appropriate tracking is in place to measure the health and performance of the overall portfolio, including project intake and planning. The position includes identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating requests with all initiatives within the EApps portfolio of projects and programs. You'll have a pivotal role in ensuring that the team understands the business requirements and delivers solutions that align with stakeholder needs. You'll lead the collaboration with stakeholders and partners to ensure we are able to guide metrics, reporting from the portfolio, and assist in the governance process for planning and prioritization of initiatives. You should have great communication, planning, and finalizing skills.
What you will do

  • Apply practices to support portfolio and demand management strategy
  • Facilitate request intake and discovery processes for Demand Management team
  • Coordinate all reports and documentation that support the collection and review of intake requests
  • Ensure that all questions are answered during the intake process
  • Lead and motivate a virtual team of subject matter experts to decide the best course of action to determine level of efforts for identified work
  • Define work scope, deliverables, roles, and responsibilities in collaboration with virtual team of subject matter experts
  • Facilitate discovery sessions to build a shared understanding across teams using collaborative, design thinking approaches and using the outputs to drive future-state plans
  • Develop clear and concise agile delivery plans
  • Facilitate cross-functional team ceremonies to help us stay aligned
  • Proactively manage expectations and communicate risks with all initiated work to all involved parties
  • Assist in the preparation for monthly and quarterly reviews with EApps leadership to validate and assess the portfolio
  • Provide consistent and timely portfolio data to provide reporting to enable data-driven decisions for portfolio planning
  • Resolve and mitigate portfolio reporting issues
  • Create and maintain required portfolio documentation and artifacts
  • Guide continuous improvement on processes, ceremonies, and tooling in an effort to mature the service


What you will bring

  • Experience in agile management practices
  • Knowledge and experience with agile and other project management software
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value that data bring to the management of portfolio and demand management
  • Experience defining and maintaining strategies and roadmaps, both business and technical
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to focus discussions and guide to decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply prior experience to understand where and how a change may create risk for another area of the business
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements
  • Experience with complete software development life cycle
  • Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Motivated with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience and ability to work in remote environments
  • Competency in project portfolio management (PPM) software like Clarity PPM, ServiceNow IT business management (ITBM), or Workfront is a plus
