Portfolio Analyst

We are seeking a bright and resourceful analyst to join the Portfolio Insights & Reporting team at Octane. The Portfolio Insights & Reporting team is responsible for analyzing the performance, dynamics, and risk of Octane’s consumer loan portfolio. An ideal candidate for this role can parse large volumes of data to get to an answer that generates business value on how to manage the portfolio. They have a scientific mindset and are excited to run the experiments that will further optimize our loan portfolio. Lastly, they are a structured thinker who can methodically explain their analysis to senior leaders in the risk organization.
Specifically, you will:
- Analyze the performance, dynamics, and risk of Octane’s portfolio
- Identify segments of portfolio with anomalous performance or elevated risk
- Design strategies to optimize portfolio construction and mitigate risk
- Relate changes in portfolio to changes in Octane’s credit and collections strategies
- Conduct data-driven analyses for business decisioning
- Design reports to be reviewed both internally and with external capital partners
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or relevant experience at a financial institution
- Credit or financial analytics experience (1-3 years)
- Familiarity with statistical techniques
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Technical: Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau
