The Global Public Policy function focuses on public policy and regulatory issues that affect EY and the broader capital markets. It works with policymakers, regulators, investors and other stakeholders to inform EY's views and actions and to help EY navigate the complexity of operating globally in over 150 countries.

We are seeking a Policy Analyst to play an active role in supporting the Global Public Policy team's overall agenda and engagement activities.

The opportunity

Working with a network of colleagues across the globe, you will be monitoring, researching, analyzing and reporting on policy developments as well as helping to formulate advocacy strategies.

Your policy portfolio will include topics such as environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), technology (including artificial intelligence and data), cross border geopolitics (including trade and investment) and financial and professional services regulatory matters.

You will deliver actionable insight to leadership of one of the world's largest professional services networks.

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitoring, researching, analyzing and reporting on public policy and stakeholder perspectives of interest to EY and the accounting profession (e.g., ESG, technology, cross border geopolitics, financial and professional services, etc.), as well to provide input to advocacy strategies.
  • Developing a variety of policy analysis and related content (e.g., presentations, talking points, point of views, etc.) that will be used to facilitate engagement with stakeholders, both externally and internally, including EY leadership.
  • Drive operational efficiency including liaising with and managing internal and external vendors, support services, etc.


Skills and attributes needed for success

  • Interest in topics such as ESG, technology, cross border geopolitics, financial and professional services.
  • An understanding of and passion for the global public policy and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to identify and analyze public policy developments, put them into context and identify/communicate key concerns and insights.
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks concurrently, on varying topics, while also paying attention to key details.
  • Strategic thinking skills and experience addressing complex challenges.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to appropriately tailor communications to different types of internal and external audiences


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in professional services or public policy; financial services experience; experience with ESG (preferred)
  • Strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, transparently, virtually and independently
  • Ability to synthesize complex information from various resources
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrable integrity and discretion with sensitive and confidential information

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university degree is required
  • Master's degree in business administration or public policy, preferred.
