Job summary
The Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team is looking for a Manager focused on data engineering and business intelligence (BI) to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support the build and delivery of data engineering solutions for highly visible data and analytics assets across the enterprise. As a key member of the EDA team, you'll be responsible for product development, leading a highly-skilled team of data engineers, and working closely with other teams to craft best practices and standards that enable enterprise analytics and insights at scale. As a Manager, you will facilitate interactions between your team of data engineers and BI engineers, system administrators, data architects, and data governance teams across the organization. You will participate regularly in technical solution design and code development. You will lead the delivery efforts for the data engineering solutions.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) development
  • Manage and coach a team of highly-skilled ETL developers focused on designing and deploying solutions to meet stakeholder business requirements
  • Own delivery for data engineering components of highly visible analytics offerings
  • Design and implement data engineering solutions and code management best practices to ensure stable data assets at scale
  • Enable enterprise-scale operational and analytical reporting capabilities for internal business customers
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users
  • Provide technical assistance and cross-training to other team members


Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in the ETL development, data engineering, BI, or analytics space
  • Advanced-level experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Pentaho Data Integration (PDI), or other industry ETL tool
  • Advanced-level knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts both relational and dimensional
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and related cloud services
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
  • Experience with scripting technologies like Python
  • Demonstrated experience working with data lake technologies
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of data warehouse concepts and standards
  • Ability to articulate solutions and recommendations on complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Communication skills with solid judgment and the ability to work effectively with both business and technical associates
