Summary
We are currently looking for someone to lead our data engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build our client facing analytics dashboards, streamline and improve our reporting building solutions, mentor and build the data engineering team.
mPulse is looking for an energetic candidate with a desire to work with a Best in Class team in a fun, fast paced, collaborative environment.
We d like a player-coach leader (reporting to the Director of Data Products) who gets data pipelines (especially in a cloud environment) for analytics, reporting, and data science. This individual will be managing a high-performing and talented team of data engineers. This person should be able to support our high growth, not get overwhelmed by the fast-paced environment and support, mentor and lead your team to with the latest and greatest techniques to help the team deliver excellent quality data products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the data engineering team
  • Develop and execute on data engineering strategy set by the Director and CTO
  • Hands-on development and maintenance of current data products including data streaming, insights dashboards and custom report builder
  • Ensure all data product comply with our Information Security and Data Privacy requirements
  • Ensure systems adhere to SLAs and SDLC processes
  • Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders to ensure that data products are aligned with business and client goals
  • Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS data services
  • Deep hands-on experience building and managing data engineering teams and products
  • Experience working on AWS data products such as Redshift, S3, Kinesis, and Lambda.
  • Thorough understanding of distributed frameworks/servicesThorough knowledge of and experience using Redshift/Postgres, Airflow, and other data-related products to build solutions for both business clients and internal data science teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience with AWS cloud computing and data services

Other Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience with data engineering
  • Experience developing software using Python/Javascript, SQL, Shell, Linux, Docker/Kubernetes
  • Applicant must be a US citizen as the position will be required to handle sensitive data (DoD data) only accessible to US Citizens
  • Have managed or led a data engineering team in a high growth environment
  • Familiar with or experience working in highly regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.
  • Understanding of all phases of SDLC (especially in an Agile/SCRUM environment)
  • Masters or Bachelors with 4 years of related work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, Economics, or related field that demonstrates knowledge of algorithms, software engineering principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
