Job Description As a Business Analyst, you will serve as liaison between IT and business representatives, focusing on customer requirements. You will work closely with our business partners to analyze business requirements and review/produce specifications for any new/change to our Tandem and Stratus front-end online payment transaction processing applications. You will be responsible to identify, assess, and document business requirements, providing input to business priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and costs. You will work closely with the development team and the QA team to ensure that they understand the requirements and specifications. It requires an individual that is comfortable with various aspects of technology (i.e. Architecture, Infrastructure, Database, and Software development).
As a Business Analyst, you are responsible for distilling the high-level and detailed functional requirements from the individual business groups. You will have the additional following responsibilities:

  • Interface with the business on functional aspects throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise with business sponsors to understand business priorities and requirements.
  • Translate business needs into requirements that can be understood by application development teams.
  • Document and manage the completion of functional requirements; obtain sign-off for functional requirements from necessary parties.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the development and test teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing documented test plans, and coordination of UAT.
  • Manage pre and post release expectations; coordinate defect & change requests raised.
  • Negotiate function points across lines of business to agree on a common approach where necessary.
  • As one of the key contacts between Enterprise Systems Technology and the business, this is a very visible role that requires strong partnership with the business groups and technology teams. You must provide continuous communication of the practical implications of business decisions, issues and plans to business and technology teams.
  • It would be your responsibility to ensure that project deliverables meet business requirements, industry best practices and standards and that the requirements are clearly understood by development and test teams.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements throughout project life cycle.
  • Translate business requirement into functional/technical requirements for online payment card transaction processing initiatives.
  • Document requirements specific to online payment card transaction processing initiatives that impact multiple systems within Chase Paymentech.
  • Work closely with the business users of the systems and the technical owners of the systems to gather and document business needs.
  • Create mockups and field level specifications when necessary to define specific reports, screens or other application functionality.
  • Gather requirements by engaging the appropriate users and stakeholders in requirements gathering sessions using various methodologies including use case analysis, and business process analysis, and workflow modeling.
  • Act as a leader in a cross-functional team led by Project Management, to collaborate and implement business objectives and project deliverables across multiple application platforms.
  • Participate in analysis and design to provide feedback to development.
  • Create and maintain documentation on components, applications, and multi-platform products of Chase Paymentech as part of each project.
  • Define business rules when necessary to support business processes.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
  • Define new business process or changes to existing business processes as necessary to support the integration of new products and services into our existing multi-platform business model.
  • Recommend technical and process improvements where possible to improve the overall effectiveness or marketability of a product.
  • Create new procedures when appropriate to improve operational proficiency.
  • Train other users, Product Managers and Integration Consulting Engineers as part of each project implementation to production.
  • Provide on-going support to other departments as required.
  • Provide regular timely status updates and presentations to management as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in software development
  • Experience in systems development life cycle including waterfall and agile delivery SDLC
  • Understanding of online transaction processing and broad knowledge of financial/banking
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
  • Experience with developing Functional Specifications, Process Flows, Use Cases and other SDLC deliverables
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
