We are looking for a Database Engineer I to join our Franklin, TN team. The ideal candidate is someone who likes to be responsible for maintaining data integrity, with experience resolving data performance issues, along with monitoring and administer database security. You will be responsible for the database administration of internal and remote SQL Server databases, and overall server health as needed.

What You'll Do

Specific responsibilities of the Database Engineer I include monitoring, analyzing, configuring, testing, and reporting database conditions to ensure successful database development and maintenance associated with the following:

  • Developing new databases, as required, and updating existing databases, Heavy SQL use
  • Responding to Analysts and user requests for assistance in database integration and development
  • Install new versions of database software, application software, and other software related to database administration
  • Monitor and administer database security. This involves adding and removing users, administering quotas, auditing, and checking for security problems
  • Responsible for the administration of existing enterprise databases and the analysis, design, and creation of new databases
  • Proactively monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints
  • Adheres to policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database
  • Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
  • Must be able to obtain gaming licenses (similar requirements to a security clearance)
  • Windows HyperV work as required. (Replication, VM Deployment)
  • May be required to work without direct supervision on routine work and receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
  • Follow established procedures and exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects
  • The Database Engineer I is also responsible for the deployment, upgrade, and support of VGT software. Non-standard hours as well as “on call” support should be expected

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of database administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server 2008+
  • Knowledge of Windows Server
  • Microsoft Certifications highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
