Data Systems System Analyst
Job Description:
As the Data Systems System Analyst, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining of test data acquisition and control systems. Work involves troubleshooting various powertrain systems/sub-systems in the test cell and/or vehicle level environment. You will be responsible for configuring test systems, and working closely on a daily basis with Test Engineers and support personnel. The role will provide opportunity for hands-on involvement with Allison products, industrial test equipment, test operating controls systems, and powertrain systems including high horsepower engines, input and output dynamometers, propulsion systems, drivelines, heat exchangers, and cooling systems. This person will share knowledge, assist and train other engineers by a team approach in all projects.
In this role, you will be a valuable part of the team by:
- Develop and Deploy test system hardware and software
- Supports maintenance and troubleshooting of test system hardware
- Contribute to department continuous improvement activities to increase testing efficiency, reduce cost, and drive high levels of quality
- Provide "expert" software operational support to users
- Assist Test Engineers to design, develop, implement, and execute reliable, repeatable testing
- Install and configure mechanical test equipment
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
- Proficient with Linux OS
- Strong work ethic
- Problem Solving
- Has basic understanding of computer programming to modify durability test cycles and post processing applications
- Observes applicable procedures and practices as delineated in Test Operations Manual, PE Procedures, and Standard Procedures
