As a Data Solution Analyst, you'll translate functional data requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the business and technology team, leveraging a variety of approved ETL technologies.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads or partners with the business and other technology professionals to understand business needs and outcomes.
  • Translates multiple business outcomes into solution requirements.
  • Ensures business alignment on requirements using facilitation and visual management techniques.
  • Works on data projects by analyzing complex end to end data requirements and existing business processes to help in the design, development and implementation of data solutions.
  • Responsible for producing data flows for varying client demands such as standard and ad hoc reporting and data feeds.
  • Translates business data stories into technical stories, estimate work to fit for a schedule or sprint.
  • Possess a good understanding of the applications used to support the business in a specific Business Solution Area(s) (BSA).
  • Conducts quality improvements by providing complex analysis of relevant data.
  • Executes the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation.
  • Effective in team processes such as scrum, Kanban, and other agile processes, and communication of progress, blockers, and translation of the code being created to the story or business requirements.
  • Implements production processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
  • Performs data profiling tests for data quality. With input from business requirements/story, creates and executes testing data and scripts to validate that quality and completeness criteria are satisfied.
  • Participate as leader, mentor, and learner in team tasks for data analysis, architecture, application design, coding, and testing practices.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director Data Leader.

Technical Experience:

  • Solid understanding of Informatica or other ETL tools
  • Advanced SQL queries
  • Unix experience
  • Snowflake experience is a plus
  • AWS experience is a plus

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.

License/Certification/Designation: Certifications are not required but encouraged.

Experience: Two to five years of relevant experience with data management/ organization/ analytics or practices. Experience in with data visualization tools, reporting and self-service analytic techniques. Experience in application of data acquisition and data wrangling. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Data application and practices knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
