Data Links Communication Engineer - Area-I
Area-I, an Anduril Company, is a Metro-Atlanta based company dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft systems designed for use by the United States Armed Forces. We specialize in the development of unmanned aircraft systems that eject from host platforms or modular launch systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Data Links Communication Engineer works as part of the Avionics and Software teams to design/evaluate/implement datalink systems and communications schemes for UAS, manned platform, and ground system networks. This position encompasses all communications interactions including vehicle local subsystem communications and busses, multi-UAS datalink communications, command, and control, as well as great network architectures to include motherships and remote ground systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a resource and subject matter expert for aircraft program engineering teams
- Design and perform testing for new hardware and software aircraft systems.
- Evaluate and manage datalink systems and documentation.
- Validate new sensor implementations.
- Define firmware requirements and test new firmware releases.
- Identify new technology, hardware, or software to improve Area-I aircraft systems.
- Flight test engineering, data collection, experiment design, data processing
- Root cause analysis
- Maintain design documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or Mechanical engineering with focus on network or RF systems
- Network / Avionics systems engineering experience, preferably working military programs.
- Familiarity or experience with LAN standards; including VLANs, multicast, and different media types.
- Familiarity or experience with TCP/IP networking protocols; particularly IP Multicast, IP Routing, and interactions between Ethernet, IP, and Software/Application
- Experience decomposing requirements, developing systems engineering work products, and integrating complex systems.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
