JOB SUMMARY

The Data Analytics Analyst supports Supply Chain Management to drive strategic and impactful projects within the SCM Gas and Generation business towers, support functions, and operating companies. This analyst position will use statistical modeling, fact-based analytics, and historical operations data, projected future demand, and market intelligence research to empower business stakeholders through strategic recommendations and actionable insights, forecasting and optimization for defined categories to support our procurement and strategic efforts.

This position may be filled as Data Analytics Analyst I (GSE04), Analyst II (GSE05), or Senior Analyst (GSE06). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule. Three (3) days in office and two (2) days remote.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, enhance, and deploy statistical and analytical models using both structured and unstructured data to inform growth decisions and strategies across SCM Gas and Generation business towers and its support functions
  • Provide advanced analytical support and appropriate data to assist category groups in strategy development and cost optimization
  • Forecast short & long-term demand and target growth sectors and opportunities through advanced, repeatable, and deployable predictive models
  • Design complex and large-scale datasets to be used for statistical modeling and predictive analytics to formulate actionable strategic insights
  • Identify areas of existing data sources across the organization & leverage those resources to reduce duplicative efforts
  • Understand trends in market and providing sophisticated analysis to inform the sourcing strategies
  • Engage with the category leads on an on-going basis to understand the strategic direction and areas of opportunity/risk for categories
  • Create & distribute data sets with key competitive analysis, and industry best practices
  • Identify high-impact/risk enterprise commodity and category inputs/factors
  • Clearly communicate data-supported insights and KPI tracking of business objectives through advanced data visualization and interactive dashboarding
  • Be a change agent using data supported recommendations to implement best practices and process improvement
  • Promote and be a champion of Safety First safety initiatives for work team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Computer Science, Business Analytics, other relevant analytical field or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree is a plus

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in analytics and Machine Learning
  • Intermediate to advanced statistical and predictive model creation and deployment
  • Strong analytic skills with demonstrated work experience in data mining, coding, and other analytical concepts (i.e. multivariate regression, clustering, segmentation, time series, decision trees, linear modeling)
  • Experience in demand forecasting techniques, & interactive data visualization development to effectively communicate performance variables, market drivers and impact on the business
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot, VBA, macro creation), PowerBI and applications within MS Office Suite
  • Coding/Programming and analytical proficiency in SQL, R and/or Python, Alteryx, SAS
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization
  • Executive-level presentation skill, as well as effective verbal and written communication of complex analytical concepts
  • Supply Chain Management knowledge/experience a plus

  • Possess advanced skills in Financial Analysis, Internal Enterprise Analysis, Marketplace Analysis, and Benchmarking.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable insights
  • Ability to inform and influence stakeholders based on findings
  • Data extraction and data mining from internal and external systems
  • Possess at least intermediate level of skills in Strategy Development, Strategy Execution, Project Management, Relationship Building & Influencing, Communication, Presentation, Team Building, Cultural Awareness, and Change Management.
  • Possess a minimum level of basic skills in Competitive Bidding, Negotiation, Commercial Agreements, Supplier Relationship Management, and Facilitation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability and determination to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position can require some travel - approximately 25% per year
