What does a great Conversion Analyst do?

Our Conversion Analysts provide analysis, consultation, and training to new and existing clients during core bank data conversions. The Deposit Conversion Analyst role is a key position in making for a successful data conversion for Fiserv's Precision clients. As a Deposit Conversion Analyst, you will analyze converted data and determine implementation requirements as well as configure software specifications to achieve desired results. We also provide consultation to the client before, during and after Implementation, including assisting with the development of new department procedures the implementation may require. We'll help you to learn Fiserv's Precision core accounting system for banks as well as testing methods to ensure data conversion accuracy. As a Deposit Conversion Analyst, you can look forward to traveling to bank locations in the US throughout the year to balance conversion data, train clients on the use of the Precision software and build great customer relationships during their first live week on our Precision bank accounting software. About the Role:

You will be the primary application liaison between Fiserv and the Client to work together to help the Client to understand the process and requirement details involved in data conversions, product implementations, and occasional professional service projects. Working with new and existing Fiserv clients you will provide analysis, consultation and guidance on projects to ensure an accurate data conversion and enable clients to best function on the Fiserv system. Your efforts will be rewarded with a successful quality conversion, client satisfaction, and a positive post conversion survey.

About our Business:

Our Bank Solutions team delivers technology products and services for community, regional and large financial institutions through an outsourced service center. The Conversions team is responsible for the conversion of Client data, the implementation of products, and client support on the Fiserv bank servicing platform, Precision. This platform enables Clients to improve their customer service and streamline back-office operations by providing mission-critical banking functionality while also serving as a delivery channel for an array of other advanced, value-adding Fiserv solutions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Determine and clearly document client requirements (conversion procedures) to ensure thorough understanding by the client and programming staff. Document field level conversion requirements via the system study document, verify converted data, balance applications and achieve the goal of the Client being self-supporting.
  • Conduct review(s) of system study document(s) with clients to communicate all changes to data, parameter settings and process changes as required. Take ownership of your application(s) communications to maintain an open regular dialogue with client staff to discuss requirements, process changes and what to expect throughout the conversion process and after conversion.
  • Identify clients' training needs through the system study process and discuss these items with the Fiserv application trainer. Follow up with the client after completion of application training to address any outstanding items discussed during training.
  • Work with client to identify internal procedures that may need to be changed prior to conversion to accommodate system differences. Provide consultation to clients before, during and after conversion, including the development of new department procedures necessitated by the conversion.
  • Ensure balancing of all applications to GL are completed during the conversion process and are discussed/reviewed with the client and the Accounting Systems analyst during post-conversion support.
  • Communicate progress and any potential problems to Conversion Project Manager and Conversion Resource Manager for awareness and/or resolution.
  • Continuously examine procedures, processes and tools for maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Look to eliminate, consolidate and improve the process wherever possible.
  • Provide additional application training to the client before, during and after the conversion, including daily application balancing procedures. The Fiserv Training Department provides the initial application training for the client.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager. These may include, but are not limited to: existing client parameter reviews, QA assistance with new releases, conducting training sessions for clients or internal associates, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Two years of banking/lending application experience and/or related functions such as data analysis, data mapping, client service support or business analysis for financial industry applications
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical specifications to clients.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office - Word and Excel


Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • SQL queries
  • Previous conversion experience.
  • Accounting experience in a financial institution, fintech, or data processing provider
  • 2+ years in a related job function i.e., experience as a Product Support Representative in primary application is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Fiserv products


Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands (keyboarding, notetaking)
  • Involves long periods (6 or more hours) of sitting at computer/desk; Multi-day client review sessions
  • Involves traveling, carrying items (luggage, boxes, laptop, etc., 30-50 lbs.)


Work Environment:

  • Travel Required: Approximately 10% to 15% travel required to provide onsite client support after conversion.
  • Weekend work required during conversion events.
