Organization Description
CCB Chief Data Office (CDO) helps the firm understand, manage and anticipate data risks in a constantly changing environment. The CCB Data Governance and Controls function in the Chief Data Office covers all aspects of data risk related to data retention and destruction, provides oversight of regulatory exams, audits, and Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk targeted assessments, and manages the implementation of the Data Risk Management Policy and Standards in CCB.
The CCB Records Management Program partners with stakeholders from the CCB Sub-Lines of Business (CCB Sub-LOBs), business management, control management, compliance, legal, operations and technology. The team executes a series of workstreams that will deliver record management capabilities to ensure alignment to the firm's Data Risk Management Policy and Standards requirements for data retention and destruction. This work is critical to managing risk related to records and meeting client, legal and regulatory expectations. Deliverables vary across the workstreams and often include current state assessment, strategy development including prioritization, project planning and execution, coordinating efforts across sub-businesses, data analysis, quality assurance, governance oversight and management reporting, authoring executive presentations and creating reusable process and tools.

Sr Associate - Data Analysts / Quality Assurance
We are currently seeking a Sr Associate level candidate to support multiple complex records management programs / projects. The individual will be part of a team responsible for coordinating with the CCB Sub-Lines of Business and functional partners to implement Firmwide Data Risk Management policies and standards within the CCB organization relevant to data retention and destruction. The person filling this position will need to be able to partner and work with the CCB Records Management Workstreams Leads, Program / Project Managers and multiple cross-functional areas, including CCB Sub-LOBs, Technology, and Controls, The person will need to understand key business initiatives in CCB Products and to support the integrat ion of data retention and destruction analytics and quality assurance activities accordingly.
The successful candidate should have proven ability to provide innovative ways to solving problems and assess data risk across multiple data stores (e.g. applications, shared drives, sharepoint) to see the bigger picture, and hands on experience with data analytics and quality assurance controls . The candidate is proactive, drives for results and possess strong personal accountability and attention to details to ensure proper identification and execution of governance oversight and control functions.
The individual should be able to garner respect by treating people fairly, allowing opposing views to be heard, escalating issues quickly and helps to resolve; solution focused and must be able to frame basic communications on work product that are persuasive and include partner context . The ability to effectively prioritize own work and proactively seeks advice, Relationship building and collaboration skills are very important in this position as many of the resources required to plan and execute projects cross organizationally will be matrixed.
Core Responsibilities

  • Lead data analytics and quality assurance activities to support deliverables related to specific records management workstreams (i.e., applications (ARM), shared drive, know your records (KYR)
  • Identify reusable approaches to perform quality assurance of key deliverables and evidence documentation required to demonstrate compliance with firmwide policy, standards, and procedures
  • Develop subject matter expertise in records management (firmwide retention requirements, firmwide tools, CCB record types)
  • Develop quality assurance metrics, reporting and presentation materials that include key messages, control and operational effectiveness, and overall status
  • Maintain strong network with key stakeholders including CCB Lines of Business, Records Champions, Controls and Technology
  • Understand, assess and monitor records management risks and key risk indicators
  • Support the f acilitat ion the implementation of the Data Risk Management policy and standard requirements for data retention and destruction related to identification, classification, storage, retention and destruction of information (records and data)
  • Support the rollout and maturity of the records management governance processes and CDO oversight across CCB


Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of industry experience related to data, including data management, governance and controls
  • 3 + years of data analysis and quality assurance experience
  • Functions as a lead contributor with advanced knowledge of area of specialization and significant exposure to broad department activities
  • Experience in Records Management, including an understanding of legal obligations and regulatory requirements and the data lifecycle
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to adapt in an evolving and changeable environment
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues
  • Takes accountability for completing deliverables and enjoys owning tasks and jumping in to deliver
  • Independent, organized, self-motivated and a team player
  • Ability to think through and outline work processes in a thoughtful and detailed manner
  • Possesses excellent judgment, knows when to escalate complex issues to senior management or functional partners with relevant expertise
  • Advanced skills with the core MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced skills with standard PM tools (e.g. MS Project, JIRA, Kanban)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of basic query writing and execution using SQL or other data analysis tools
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data wrangling and dashboard tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with process-mapping tools (e.g. MS Visio, etc.)
