Overview

Opportunity to work in a hybrid model.

The Business Automation Analyst will assist with the delivery of multiple business automation initiatives. This role will translate strategy into action plans and identify opportunities for automation. In this role, the analyst will work under the direction of more senior team members to grow the business automation capability by executing action plans to implement automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Define the process requirements for automation, clarify the inputs and expected outputs and create the necessary automation documentation
  • Act as a liaison to bridge the knowledge between business and development language
  • Promote and support the benefits of automation
  • Uses Process Assessment Model to assess processes for automation and make recommendations on which processes should be automated
  • Work closely with the technology solutions team to ensure requirements are accurately documented and suitable for automation development and deployment
  • Advocate to stakeholders the need to have business processes well-documented as part of automation solutioning and support the business in the development of their process documentation
  • Be able to communicate the progress of the automation capability
  • Educate users on the automation lifecycle and guide them through the implementation process
  • Collect data and extract meaningful patterns and insights
  • Summarize and formulate viable recommendations for the improvement of business processes, operational efficiencies and internal controls
  • Identify and recommend automation improvement concepts and techniques
  • Contribute to strategic projects within the automation project portfolio
  • Contribute to reporting of programs and projects which includes program and project level reporting
  • Provide proactive risk management, identify risks and provide mitigation options
  • Effectively identify issues critical to the business or department, collect information and make sound recommendations while seeking to change the status quo
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively via email, virtual or in person
  • Communicate new ideas and perspectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of automation assessment, lifecycle methodologies and documentation best practices
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification preferred
  • Automation certification in Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism or UiPath preferred
  • Knowledge of GM Financial or another auto finance company core business functions, policies and procedures a plus
  • Experience with various automation and productivity tools

  • Skilled in the use of technology/software projects and deployment methodologies
  • Strong abilities with active listening and communicating effectively with others both verbally and in writing
  • Strong abilities in proactively building relationships with business partners
  • Ability to use good research, data, and judgment when solving problems or making recommendations
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create effective and efficient deliverables (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project)
  • Ability to develop effective presentations; able to adjust and apply changes quickly
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity in the management of work demands and pressures
  • Ability to continually pursue personal development

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proven track record of solving difficult problems in an enterprise environment


Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred


Experience

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience as a business analyst or similar role required
  • Proven track record of solving difficult problems in an enterprise environment required
  • 1 year working on automation or other technology initiatives as a business analyst or other applicable role preferred
  • Experience working with both the business and IT to deliver business value preferred
