The Director of Analytics will be responsible for leading a team to design, develop, and support data visualizations, dashboards, and reports in our business intelligence platform to enable business operations across the enterprise. This role is critical to our data strategy and serves to derive value from the data in our data platform, delivering insights to the business and supporting informed decision making. This leader will be influential in supporting and growing self-service and advanced analytics capabilities within different areas of the business by developing pertinent change management plans. He/she will use their broad business background, analytical prowess, and technical/statistical acumen to build products that are used by stakeholders from top to bottom, inside and out. The Director will deliver solutions that have lasting impact and enable all departments to make better, faster, and data-driven decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Direct and oversee the build and maintenance of seamless analytics technology capabilities that can be consumed by the organization for standard Business Intelligence and Self-service reporting
  • Responsible for formulating and enforcing the standards and guidelines for Microsoft Power BI technology across - security, development, CI/CD, internal and external sharing of content/reports
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of workflow templates for predictive modeling, and prescriptive modeling with automated feedback loops
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of monitoring & fault handling system to ensure SLAs are met for Power BI
  • Oversee load and performance testing activities as a continuous integration capability for existing and new deliverables
  • Direct the creation of training material (documentations and videos) to improve the adoption and adherence to best practices of Power BI
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering Director to make data services available for users in a seamless manner through analytics tools
  • Participate in Data Governance activities and evangelize good data management practices that increase value and reduce risk for RSM
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the Power BI staff to support the growing needs of the organization



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent experience is required
  • Microsoft Azure certifications are preferred



TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:

  • Strong experience in design and software technical architecture for building large scale Analytics solutions
  • Strong knowledge with Modern Analytics tools required
  • Experience enhancing customer and employee experiences by delivering services that are easy to use and cost effective
  • Experience with leading edge cloud technologies to build and deploy reliable and scalable products
  • Firm understanding of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle process
  • Ability to understand the products and services offered by the Firm and synthesize the data from them for different audiences
  • Eloquent communication skills with technical and non-technical audience



EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience in implementing Analytics Solutions required
  • 3 years of experience building Analytics solutions leveraging Power BI required
  • Knowledge and experience with Meta Data Management, Data Governance, Privacy and Security required
  • Experience building different types of Analytics solutions such as - BI, Statistical models, Predictive and Prescriptive models required
  • Experience in change management activities and proven track record for increasing adoption of Analytics tools required
  • 5 years of experience as a people manager required
  • Strong Experience leading, scaling, and developing diverse Data Engineering teams
  • Experience mentoring teams through design, development and support activities while encouraging staff to share responsibility in problem solving
  • Solid working knowledge of agile development processes preferred
  • Experience using Azure DevOps preferred

  • Ability to build strong relationships across lines of business, functional areas, and outside vendors
  • Ability to understand and articulate business imperatives as well as business impact with the use of data for analytical and operational purposes
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively within IT, Firm Leadership, and the Business. Strong ability to create and lead presentations to leadership
  • Progressive experience leading data analytics teams
  • Strong learning, analytical and strategic leadership mindset
  • Ability to lead geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to resolve conflicts timely and beneficially to all concerned
