Job Description Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Designs and prepares form drafts and coordinates the printing of coverage forms (policies, declarations, endorsements) as required by statute and in accordance with company standards. Maintains permanent detailed records of each coverage form as well as filed \"non-coverage\" forms.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Manager/Director; No Direct Reports.

CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains permanent, detailed records and history on each form (both active and obsolete) for use as central reference sources for all field offices and home office departments. Researches files for specific information upon request.

2. Analyzes and interprets systems release, insurance department filing letters and other correspondence to ascertain necessary action. Performs the required functions such as maintaining records, ordering forms, obsoleting, etc.

3. Designs, edits and prepares draft copy of new and revised policy, declarations and endorsements forms, as directed by management, for filing with state insurance departments and for use as printer's copy, in conformance with individual state statutes, requirements and company standards.

4. Assists in the development of forms content.

5. Initiates and follows through on the printing of forms by supplying detailed print specifications and instructions, and preparing and approving requisitions.

6. Proofreads, edits and approves all printer's proofs, requesting revised proofs as needed. If final proof, determines correctness and approves for quantity printing. Coordinates review of proofs by others as necessary

7. Performs "readability" scoring calculations, by inputting specific information into computer, as required by the statutes of various states. Prepares certifications of scores in compliance with regulatory requirements.

8. Compiles and prepares filing exhibits and attachments.

9. Maintains records of all insurance department filings and approvals; holds final printer's proofs until approval is received.

10. Maintains necessary quantity of policy and declarations forms (both active and obsolete) in stock permanent reserve. Approves any requests for withdrawal of samples.

11. Counsels, advises and trains other product personnel on various aspects of the forms functions, including technical information regarding the mechanics of forms control and printing.

12. Informs all affected offices in writing of new and revised forms being ordered, their effective dates, level of distribution, and the forms being replaced.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies, paralegal, or related studies.

License/Certification/Designation: N/A.

Experience: Two years related experience in compliance, underwriting, actuarial support, or forms.

Knowledge: Forms development and filing process. Insurance and/or financial services products and terminology.

Skills/Competencies: Ability to analyze property and casualty insurance forms requirements and usage. Ability to evaluate and recommend solutions to forms usage and design. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with various field, staff offices and outside contacts. Ability to operate PC and related business and forms software.

Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Ithaca, New York is$35,600.00 - $73,700.00
