Why This Role Is Valuable
The Accountant, Payroll - Corporate Accounting will maintain the payroll accounting records and general ledger for Revantage and various portfolio companies. Prepare budget to actual variance analysis, assist and or prepare the payroll budget and reforecast process, calculate and bill payroll allocations of expenses to portfolio companies, and assist with the preparation of payroll data for internal management, portfolio companies and Blackstone.
This position is based out of Revantage's headquarters in Chicago, IL.
How You Add Value
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with portfolio companies, building trust while overseeing their accounting operations
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's business to drive client visibility into financial trends and key financial metrics
- Partner with the client to provide financial recommendations and solutions
- Provide excellent client service to Revantage, portfolio companies and other accounting customers ensuring that their information needs and reporting requirements are met
Corporate Finance
- Responsible for recording the biweekly payrolls, and monthly payroll accruals for Revantage and each portfolio company
- Responsible for the payroll monthly closing process for Revantage and the portfolio companies with varied organizational structures and reporting requirements
- Prepares schedules and reconciliations to support the general ledger payroll balances
- Tracks and prepares invoices for time spent on transactions for various portfolio companies
- Maintains payroll allocations for various portfolio companies and prepares monthly payroll billing
- Ensure payroll is properly reflected in Revantage's Anaplan time tracking system. Identifies and reconciles discrepancies
- Assists in the preparation of the annual payroll budget and periodic reforecast for Revantage and the portfolio companies.
- Assists with headcount reporting, payroll modeling and analysis.
- Assists with ad hoc payroll requests for board meetings, portfolio companies, management requests and Blackstone requests
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
What You Bring To The Role
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant finance or accounting experience
- General understanding of US GAAP
- Strong computer skills required
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint), accounting software and databases
- Proficiency in Excel should include Macros, VBA, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and INDEX MATCH
- Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
- Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Workday or other ERP system
