On the Marketing DSA team, we're passionate about unearthing insights that help our marketing team in shaping the future of Zillow Group. The team works closely with the marketing organization to discover strategic opportunities in areas spanning brand marketing and performance marketing across channels like Google, Facebook, TV & multiple business lines like rentals, B2C and B2B. In this role, you will work closely with data science, marketing, product, and other DVEs on the team to build and maintain reporting and quality marketing performance data. Building and maintaining data visualizations and the data that empowers the marketing team will be a key focus of this role. More specifically you will:
Build, maintain & operate compelling, clear, and powerful visualizations that are useful and appealing to users.
Understand the business goals and be able to build reports accordingly as well as evolve/improve the existing reporting stack over time.
Utilize your strong data storytelling skills to build clear, informative dashboards in BI tools like Tableau
Utilize your expertise in UI development and Javascript skills to create custom data visualizations
Dive into Zillow's internal and third party data (think Databricks, Presto, etc.) to develop solutions that will help move the business forward and enable better decisions to be made in less time.
Write efficient SQL queries and use last mile ETL in dbt to ensure performant reporting.
Collaborate with marketing, data science, and data engineering teams to develop & maintain scalable reporting approaches in measuring marketing campaign efficacy and incorporating findings into the next iteration.
Work closely with other DVEs to execute on the marketing BI vision for Zillow Group

Who you areWe are looking for someone who is passionate about reporting, translating complicated data sets and business problems into easily consumable and impactful insights. You will also need to be unafraid of tackling complexity and new business problems. We're searching for an experienced Senior Data Visualization Engineer who has:
An undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. science, engineering, economics, quantitative finance, operations research, statistics, or similar) or demonstrable experience within business analytics.
5+ years experience in data visualization with expertise in tools and frameworks such as Tableau or other BI tools.
Highly fluent in SQL and working in a big data environment.
Experience with ETL tools and table design
Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Experience creating custom data visualizations using javascript or similar
Familiarity with data manipulation, data analysis, and data modeling techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data representation.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Work independently, set priorities, collaborate with others, and deliver quality products.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment in a remote environment.
Experience in Tableau Server administration a plus
Strong conceptual and theoretical knowledge of data visualization principles and techniques. Expertise in user-centered design solutions.
Scripting (Python) is a plus.
Experience with data modeling and DBT a plus
Familiarity with Google Analytics and other marketing-oriented datasets
Prior experience in advanced marketing analytic techniques (e.g. MMM, Testing, Causal Inference).
